Captive Audience

I titled this image ‘Captive Audience’.   One of the main agricultural exports of farms in central Kansas is sunflower seeds for their oil.

I had driven past this field at various times of the day during a visit in Jewell County and noticed that the flowers would track the sun.  In the early morning they appeared to be sleeping, midday they appeared to be at complete attention, and in the late afternoon that appeared bent over backwards.  The sun at noon brought out the bright yellow in  contrast to the deep blue sky.   I felt compelled to capture this scene.  Unfortunately, this was a fairly low resolution .jpg image.

I hope to one day revisit this area to be able to capture the various phases of the sunflowers through out the day in high resolution.
